Bahujan Hitaya Boys Hostel, Ulhasnagar-Mumbai

Enabling the most marginalized children to access quality education and prospects for a better future, plus other related objectives from SDGs, Indian Government policy and T.B.M.S.G. Policy

Established in 1985, Bahujan Hitay Boy’s Hostel Ulhasnagar, Mumbai, has completed 38 years of operation. Over 1000 students from rural backgrounds, facing poverty, have greatly benefited from the hostel. The comprehensive activities conducted for the students have helped them achieve their goals. The hostel project provided holistic facilities to marginalized communities such as SC, ST, OBC, VJNT, and other backward classes.

Admission were given to 84 students from Thane and Mumbai districts every year. The positive impact of the hostel extended not only to the beneficiaries’ families but also to the entire village. We express our deep gratitude to Karuna Trust U.K. and the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Maharashtra for their unwavering support.

Many hostel alumni have now secured government jobs, joined the Indian Navy, entered the Marathi film industry, pursued careers in the railways, become teachers, fitness trainers, news channel reporters, police officers, PHC in-charges, and found employment in the private sector. Others are also currently pursuing higher education. The society widely appreciated our services as a great source of transformation for the society.
